Rehabilitation and widening of the A1 Turki - Hammamet Motorway (Lot 2)

Given the congestion it experiences on the Tunis / Hammamet highway, especially in summer: a period of great affluence. In fact, the average daily traffic for the month of August is 52,310 vehicles via the Mornag section. In addition, 11,862,304 vehicles crossed the South motorway in its Tunis / Mornag section in 2007, according to figures from Tunisie Autoroutes. This is the framework for the project in question.

The Tunis / Hammamet highway widening project extends from the kilometer point, PK 0 (Hammam-Lif), to PK 51 (BaraketEssahel). In addition to upgrading the motorway to 2X3 lanes, it includes the extension of three hydraulic structures: Meliane, Abid and Tahouna rivers.
The project is split into two lots: Tunis-Turki lot over 30 km, and Turki-BaraketEssahel lot over 21 km.

The works are aimed at widening and strengthening the motorway platform (pavements and outbuildings), the extension of the existing hydraulic and drainage structures (single and multiple culverts), the drainage and sanitation of the motorway platform, the redevelopment of entry and exit ramps at interchanges, vertical signage work, road markings and the installation of safety devices.
